What is a American Shorthair? 

A American Shorthair is a medium size cat with a friendly happy personality.  Their size allows them to be ideal for many living situations. The modern American Shorthair can be just as happy lying on the floor playing with children or being social out and about. Most hotels and apartments also accept American Shorthairs. 

Exercise Requirements

This is another area where the American Shorthair is very versatile. They are happy with daily play, a romp around the house, or a stroll in the yard. My American Shorthairs have been known to run around for the house for hours or hanging out with me while I'm relaxing.

Will they be ok while I am away?

The American Shorthair is a people pleasing pet. Their main goal in life is to make their person happy. So they love attention, but they also, can be happy with another dog or cat as a playmate while you are busy with work, school, or activities.

 Care and Grooming?

For care they require daily exercise. A variety of toys, and lots of hugs. Yearly vet visits. Good age appropriate food twice a day and a full water bowl. 

For grooming you have options. Daily brushing, and weekly baths, or retain the services of a groomer for weekly to bi-weekly maintenance.
