Question

My puppy is pulling on her collar while I am walking her is that okay?

Answer

That is not okay. Your puppy could be causing major damage to its throat leading to a condition called collapsed trachea. So to correct this issue and to prevent any damage to your sweet fur baby. Please use a harness with your puppy for walks. It changes the position of the pressure point from the throat to the chest and distributes the weight more evenly.

Training Tip

 Training Your Puppy To Heel

To train your puppy to heel. You are going to need a bag of extra special small soft treats. (I like to use torn up chicken nuggets. Big reward equals big results.) Take your puppy to a quiet area so there will not be added distractions. Using your harness and a leash. Start walking. When the puppy pulls stop walking, take one of your treats hold it at your side where your the puppy would be were it not pulling. Call the puppy to your side. Give the treat and repeat. Practice every day for 15 minutes a day. Before you know it your puppy will start staying at your side waiting for treats. Be sure to give them some treats for good behavior. With practice your puppy will learn this important trick.

I hope you found this useful.
