What is a Cocker Spaniel?

A Cocker Spaniel is a small to medium size dog with a friendly happy personality.  Their size allows them to be ideal for many living situations. Originally used as a hunting dog to flush birds and rabbits from brushy areas. The modern Cocker Spaniel can be just as happy lying on the floor playing with children or being social out and about. Most hotels and apartments also accept Cocker Spaniels.

Exercise Requirements

This is another area where the Cocker Spaniel is very versatile. They are happy with daily walks, a romp in the yard, or a run in the park. My Cocker Spaniels have been known to run miles with my sons while they practice for cross country or hanging out with me with my walking disabilities in the front yard.

Will they be ok while I am away?

The Cocker Spaniel is a people pleasing pet. Their main goal in life is to make their person happy. So they love attention, but they also, can be happy with another dog or cat as a playmate while you are busy with work, school, or activities.

 Care and Grooming?

For care they require daily exercise. A variety of toys, and lots of hugs. Yearly vet visits. Good age appropriate food twice a day and a full water bowl.

For grooming you have options. Daily brushing, and weekly baths, or retain the services of a groomer for weekly to bi-weekly maintenance.
